The Riddle Ale House was founded in 1962 by Arnold Pompei. It was originally a neighborhood
bar called Tom Tillmans Cafe. The property the building is on used to be part of Sam Riddle's horse farm. Pictures
of his horses War Admiral and Man O War still hang on the walls of the resturant today.
The Riddle Ale House has a reputation of great hand carved roastbeef sandwhiches, homemade soups,
and Joann's homebaked cookies. It is now under ownership of Arnold Pompei. He receives great help from his son
Nick, daughter Gina, and wife Joann. Newly renovated, the Riddle Ale House now has a non-smoking section, new banquet
hall, and outdoor porch. With great service from waitresses, hostesses, bartenders, cooks, and bussers, the Riddle Ale
House is becoming a great success.
